Europe's biggest low-cost airline, Ryanair is turning its attention to North African countries: Libya, Egypt and Tunisia. Speaking in Rome after the announcement of new routes from Italy to North Africa, Ryanair's chief executive Michael O'Leary said he was not worried by political instability in the region.
It is an open secret that the new government in Libya and the other countries in North Africa involved in the Arab Spring is trying to promote investment and although political instability still remains to be an issue and security yet to be guaranteed by the state, especially in Libya where armed tribal militias still remain active, Ryanair is making efforts to be there and take advantage of what these countries have to offer to travellers interested in breaking new ground.
