The General National Congress (GNC) has approved a “Political Isolation Law” intended to bar senior political figures associated with Qaddafi’s rule from top posts in the government and Congress. The raison d’etre behind this law is to ensure that the very individuals involved in Libya’s bloodshed shall not be allowed to represent the government this time round.
People are willing to move on from the country’s political past and are therefore frustrated by the lack of progress being made by the government. Problems are surfacing all over the place and those in government cannot address them with the same way of thinking, the same way of performing and the same political beliefs.
